1970 fire brigade in scotland pension question? REALLY IMPORTANT!?

Thursday 13th January 2011

I am asking the question on behalf of my dad
He worked in the fire brigade in scotland in 1970 (ish)
He had to leave due to a car accident
He is currently not getting a pension
I was just wondering if he should be getting one?
please help me, its really important, easy 10 points!

Answer:

Your father should contact the fire brigade pension scheme administrators. They should have records of his service and the pension he is entitled to. Enquiries to firepensions@communities.gsi.gov.uk.

In order to be able to claim his pension he will have to either be above the retirement age of the scheme or qualify for early retirement. Either way the scheme administrators should be able to help you.
