Q: When will I receive some information about my State Pension due March 2009? I have done a State Pension Forecast on line but I wonder when I will start receiving official communications regarding this? I am 60 on 1st March 2009.

A: There is a lot of information about how to claim your State Pension at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits. Four months before you reach State Pension age, you'll receive a letter outlining the choices you have about when to claim your State Pension and inviting you to claim it.

If you don't hear anything, call The Pension Service on 0845 300 1084. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, and on Saturday from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. You can also download an application form from The Pension Service website.
