Step by step guide to getting a podcast

In order to get started with your podcast subscription, you need to follow these three steps:

1. Get some podcast software

You can download the specific podcast software you will need to receive podcasts free of charge from one of the following three sites:

2. Subscribe to podcasts

Depending on which podcast software you have installed on your computer you need to follow the next steps in order to subscribe to your podcasts:

For iTunes software

Go to the iTunes Podcast Directory and select the podcast you want to sign up to. If you can't find the podcast that you want in iTunes then you can follow the same method as outlined below for Juice, Doppler and other podcast software.

For Juice, Doppler or other podcast software

If you use Juice, Doppler or any other podcast software or of you can’t find the podcast you were looking for in iTunes, then you should follow these instructions:

You need to find the feed for the podcast and add it to your software. The feed is the address your podcast software has to search in order to check for new podcasts of your specified series.

In order to find the feed click on the "Subscribe to Podcast" link and the feed address will appear in the address bar of your internet browser.

You will need to copy this feed address and paste it into your podcast software. How you do this will depend on your software, but you should look out for buttons or links that say "Add" or "Subscribe".

3. Listen to the audio

Your podcast software will automatically download any new podcasts you have subscribed to. You can then listen to this episode on your computer or transfer it to your portable player to listen to later.

If you decide that you no longer want to receive podcasts from your specified series then it should be very easy to unsubscribe. Again, how you do this will depend on your software, but you should look for "Clear" or "Unsubscribe" options.
