More about our IFA database

Unbiased.co.uk's IFA database contains the details of approximately 8,000 branch addresses UK-wide and 15,500 Registered Individuals (RIs), which we estimate is around 90% of the UK IFA market. All the IFA's listed on our database can be found on our 'Find an IFA' service - we verify this data weekly against the FSA's data.

Our weekly checks against the FSA data are three fold: we check both that the IFA firm and the individual IFA listed remain authorised and that the firms have the relevant permissions to give advice on the areas they list as their 'Top 9' advice areas on our database.

Between them the 16,500 registered individual member IFAs on our database now hold over 24,500 qualifications / designations / papers incremental to current benchmark FPC 1/2/3 (Cert FP), with 14,500 of these being at QCA level 4 or above. We verify all incremental qualifications held by member IFAs directly with the appropriate awarding bodies to ensure the accuracy of this data.

Our consumer facing online 'Find an IFA' services deal with around half a million enquires a year with these enquires being allocated to member IFAs on the basis of their database entries, meaning member IFAs have a vested interest in keeping their details up to date to ensure new business gets through to them. This together with the weekly checks we conduct via the FSA ensure the integrity of our data.

Our data can be accessed in a number of ways, including an online access point that allows eligible organisations to have as many internal users signed up as they wish. This online access point enables both general and specific searches so that eligible organisations are able to drill down to the specific group of IFAs they are seeking to target.

This data can be taken off line in a number of formats including CVS, Text and Excel. Our database can be used by a number of different functions within eligible organisations, including sales, marketing, PR, research and product development, broker support, and customer services.
