Getting the most out of IFAP's online content

IFAP provide a range of online content for a variety of websites such as Financial Times, Guardian, MSN and Tiscali. We are able to provide the content in a generic format which enables you to seamlessly integrate it into your site to keep your branding and allows you to have a range of rich content to improve your websites’ offering. The content we provide are listed in our shopping list below and we would encourage you to select the most appropriate content for your site.

  • 1. White Label – ‘Find an IFA’ search facility

IFAP’s ‘find an IFA’ search is currently run on around 60 different sites including high profile news sites, portals, and product provider websites such as Financial Times, Clerical Medical, ThisisMoney,  MSN,  Scottish Life and Orange.  It is an extremely useful tool to offer visitors to your site and shows that your company is supporting the gold standard of financial advice – independent financial advice.  The search is both confidential and hygienic - the consumer is not required to provide their personal details and the decision whether to proceed and contact the local IFAs they have identified rests firmly in their hands. With seamless integration into your site consumers visiting your site are able to fulfil their research needs without leaving your web space therefore strengthening your online offering.

  • 2. Dedicated Guides

IFAP has designed a number of guides on various topics to educate consumers about financial advice. These range from a generic ‘getting advice’ guide to specific guides such as tax, pensions and savings.   The whole range of guides can be seen here.

Many of the sites such as MSN and BBC Online are taking content from us which is designed to provide information for consumers on specific subjects such as top ten tax tips, the unnecessary money wasted in taxes, new pension rules and how they affect you, plus how to improve your savings habits and budget better. You could either just use some of the copy to supplement your own sections, or take a whitelabel of the entire guide that we can build and keep updated for you.

  • 3. Online Tools

We have developed a number of online tools and interactive functionality which users love and we would be happy to white label for you just as we do for Financial Times, Guardian, and a number of other sites. The tools focus on a variety of different personal finance issues and can help individuals, couples or a family plan their finances.

Our savings planner is a good example of a simple tool that allows consumers to start thinking about managing their personal finances and our protection tool enables consumers to look at how to deal with the things in life do not go according to plan. We also have a Financial Age Tool which offers consumers a fun, yet easy way to identify how mature their personal finances actually are, offering help and advice on ways to improve them.

Financial Times, Guardian Unlimited, Thisismoney, AOL and a number of other sites have already added white-label versions of these tools to their sites to create further content around the topic of independent financial advice and to link back to the ‘find an IFA’ search.

We have calculator tools such as the thrifty calculator, which highlights how much you could save by diverting the cash you currently spend on life’s little luxuries and the debt freedom day calculator, which helps you discover how many days you need to work just to pay off the current interest on your debt.

We have recently launched the Financial Planner calendar tool, which allows the user to add in all their financial dates such as utility bill payments, mortgage rate renewal and gym membership payments.  It also has functionality that allows the user to export these dates to their Outlook calendar.

We are constantly looking to expand the tools we have and will keep you updated on what more we have to offer as and when they are completed. For a complete list of tools that we provide please visit our tools section.

  • 4. Podcasts and Vodcasts

IFAP utilise audio and video media in our content generation and we have created a series of podcasts, vodcasts and webcasts giving advice on a range of financial products. They have been recorded by our media IFAs who specialise in each particular area, in an interview style, giving consumers simple and straightforward advice on topics such as financial advice, pensions, mortgages, tax planning, ethical investments, savings and equity release, with further podcasts, vodcasts and webcasts on other topics in the pipeline. Our audio and video content is available through sites such as Youtube and Videojug as well as on What Investment, and Orange.

  • 5. Ask The Experts

We have also provided an ‘Ask The Experts’ service for websites, such as AOL, Talk Talk and Myfinances.co.uk, who require a series of generic personal finance questions answered on a regular basis.

We manage the whole process, source the media friendly IFAs who are experts in different fields to respond in a 200-250 word answer and send these to you to add to the site each week. This is normally set up with a link to Unbiased.co.uk’s ‘Find An IFA’ search at the top or bottom of this section as a call to action for any visitors who have similar issues but are not in the vicinity of the IFA who answered the question. Clearly this would fit well with your white label of the search.

  • 6. Press release and research content

Our press releases and research are also covered regularly by a huge range of websites such as Reuters, Independent and Sky News.  These releases cover every aspect of personal finance from tax wastage, to attitudes to pensions, to finding the right advice and ISA inactivity..
