Alliance Trust declares its commitment to independent financial advice by sponsoring IFAP
IFA Promotion, the organisation promoting the benefits of independent financial advice, today announced that Alliance Trust has become its latest sponsor, demonstrating further support for the independent financial advice sector.
Alliance Trust, the leading provider of SIPP, SSAS and investment products, owned by the UK’s largest generalist investment trust company, becomes the latest sponsor of IFAP’s twenty-year marketing campaign.
Gill Cattanach, Head of Marketing at Alliance Trust commented, "We’re keen to show our support for a strong IFA sector by sponsoring IFAP’s programme. There’s no doubt that the independent brand continues to attract discerning investors, offering highest-quality advice across the whole product market. We want our fast-growing range of pension and investment products to be sold by experienced, impartial professionals, based on their suitability for an individual’s needs."
David Elms, Chief Executive of IFA Promotion said, “IFAP has put over half a million individuals and firms in touch with local IFAs this year, a trend which has led to ever-increasing numbers of new business leads. Alliance Trust’s sponsorship gives them access to IFAP’s comprehensive range of web tools and online white labels. We value Alliance Trust’s support for IFAP’s ongoing marketing programme.”

1. Independent Financial Adviser Promotion
IFA Promotion was established in 1989 to promote the value and accessibility of independent financial advice to the public. It represents around 9,000 firms of independent financial advisers across the UK and is sponsored by 31 leading financial institutions. In 2005, over 600,000 consumers and businesses used IFA Promotion to find local independent financial advice.
IFA Promotion believes Independent financial advice should be:
Affordable. The option to take independent financial advice should be available, by right, to all - not just the wealthiest in society.
Convenient. IFAs should be available in the location of the consumer’s choice, wherever they live in the UK.
Transparent. It must be clearly transparent to consumers who is able to offer independent financial advice and who is not.
