IFA Promotion has launched a new look consumer advertising campaign designed to enhance its marketing efforts for its 9,000 strong IFA membership, by refreshing the brand, and increasing its reach to consumers and businesses searching for a local IFA.  The new campaign has been designed with an online focus in mind, and includes striking animated characters, which will start to feature on a range of key personal finance websites and portals from today.

The campaign features the ‘eye team’, reflecting IFAs whole market outlook, who are there to search high and low for the best independent financial adviser for consumers and businesses nationwide.  The campaign includes adverts designed to include both generic and campaign specific messages.  Adverts will feature in the money sections of sites such as AOL UK, Yahoo.co.uk, Guardian Unlimited, Telegraph.co.uk and Times Online, as well as Money Net.

In 2005, IFAP put 530,000 enquirers in touch with local IFAs, 86% of those came from online enquiries.  In order to continue to deliver value to its members and sponsors, IFAP’s advertising campaign needs to continue to reach those researching online, ensuring the messages that the independent advice sector remains robust and finding a local IFA that fits your individual advice needs is a simple and straightforward process, are loud and clear.

Commenting on the new look advertising, IFAP’s Marketing Director, Karen Barrett, said:  “Our previous advertising had been running for two years and we felt that it was time to refresh it.  The financial advice market has become more confusing to consumers and our campaign needs to cut through the clutter and present the benefits of using an IFA in a way that consumers will notice and respond to. It’s essential for us to have a campaign that works well online, especially as the internet is now the research tool of choice for most people.

“Member IFAs can obtain free posters, supporting the campaign, by calling IFAP on 0870 325 9020.”

1.  Independent Financial Adviser Promotion

IFA Promotion was established in 1989 to promote the value and accessibility of independent financial advice to the public.  It represents around 9,000 firms of independent financial advisers across the UK and is sponsored by 32 leading financial institutions. In the past 12 months, over 530,000 consumers and businesses used IFA Promotion to find local independent financial advice.

IFA Promotion believes independent financial advice should be:

Affordable.  The option to take independent financial advice should be available, by right, to all - not just the wealthiest in society.

Convenient.  IFAs should be available in the location of the consumer’s choice, wherever they live in the UK.

Transparent.  It must be clearly transparent to consumers who is able to offer independent financial advice and who is not.
