About us

Backhouse has a nice story to tell - a family owned business going back decades - which clients like and trust. Our advisers combine technical knowledge with personal skills - there is nothing more rewarding than when clients become friends. We hold specialist qualifications in several areas: care fees planning (at present we have the only Society of Later Life Advisers accredited adviser in East Lancs), pension options (including the new freedoms), and investment management. Regular contact with our clients is crucial to us.

Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Our services

We aim beyond the traditional role of an IFA - "you need a pension, you need an ISA" and then telling the client each year how it has performed. Our mission is to help people live the lives they aspire to. Do you want to help your children go to university? What age would you like to retire at? What are your dreams for your retirement? Using cashflow modelling, we can assess the likelihood of goals being met, and what action may make them achievable. In summary, we work with clients on an ongoing sustainable financial plan for life.
