What our clients say
We wanted a reasonable but secure return on our savings. Andrew had a very structured approach, explained how the mechanisms he recommends work and how risk is assessed and mitigated. He took time to understand our reservations about moving from 'saving' to 'investing' and patiently discussed and addressed our concerns.
Finding myself a year off retiring with no real prospect of finding a job, decided I needed advice to finance the next year from existing pensions. Andrew Platt provided some very valuable personal advice on wills and probate along with structuring an income from existing pensions by consolidating these with a forward plan during retirement.
Communication has been excellent, Andrew takes the time to ensure everything is understood, in very easy terms. One thing though, on the first visit there was no Earl Grey tea, but every visit since it has been available, sometimes the little things count.
I took early retirement and had a sum of money I wanted to invest plus I had some savings in various schemes.
Andrew sat down with me on many occasions ,guiding me through all the Benefits and Pitfalls and explained everything throroughly. These visits were as often as I wanted. Nothing was too much trouble.
Working with Callisto is great because Andrew gives you a lot of confidence that he knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s got good people working for him, he’s very pleasant to meet up with, he puts things into English.
By handing things over to Andrew and taking his advice it means that my husband is free from messing about with finance and moving money. It's given both of us a lot of confidence that we’re on the right track, we're going forward and life is good! We can spend more time with the family, we can travel more and, generally speaking, we don’t have any worries.
What’s it like working with Callisto? I don’t know, because I just get on with my life! Callisto do the work in the background.
The key strength of working with Callisto is financial freedom. I’m not tied in; I can take the amount of money I need to live on and the money I leave in there is making a reasonable interest rate.
To me, financial freedom means getting up in the morning not having to go to work, I can go and play golf, go out on my mountain bike, get out in the country, go to national trust places, go on holiday. My son lives in Australia; I go and see him once or twice a year, all paid for by my private pension.
I had been looking around for a new financial adviser since my old one retired. Callisto helped me by putting together a package which fitted exactly what I wanted, and also listened to what I wanted first and then went on with the compliance, risk assessments and so on.
Working with Callisto is really good because I get all the information I need in a form that is useful, and none of the stuff that I don’t need, so that means that I don’t have to put piles and piles of paperwork in drawers that I will never look at again.
When I recently moved to a new area, I took the opportunity to change financial advisor from the one I had previously, with whom I had not been happy. Andrew helped me choose the best way to re-invest my savings. He has a pleasant manner and was extremely patient with a person who does not really understand very well how the financial world works. He explained everything so that even I could understand it.It is early days yet, to write about outcomes, but I am confident that I have been given sound advice.
We have always found Andrew to be a very competent IFA giving excellent advice and he has a very good manner and is easy to work with. Trust is vital with an IFA and over the last eight years we have felt very comfortable with Andrew and our investments. He responds quickly to any amendments or changes that are required to our investment portfolio.
