What our clients say
When facing major change with the possibility of early retirement, ending freelance practice, an inheritance and my wife's serious illness, I was introduced to a financial adviser working for the same company as Richard. He then retired and Richard became my adviser. Richard made this transition very easy at a difficult time. He helped us sort out our affairs, anticipating the situation we faced sensitively and pragmatically. With the subsequent but anticipated death of my wife, he was a much valued source of support and advice. In happier times he has continued to respond to changing circumstances, advising me and my new partner most effectively and clearly. I now have a much better grasp of my financial situation and my affairs are in much better order.

Richard was recommended by our previous financial adviser, and we have enjoyed his advice and expertise for the past 20 years. He organised our investment profile , put our rather shambolic economic affairs in order and laid out a clear strategy for our "sunset" years. We have the outcome we were hoping for. We still feel quite adventurous, but not foolhardy, and our watershed feels secure . Richard has ensured that. Frankly, I have a fairly low boredom threshold re finance; Richard has kept me focused.
Jonathan, UK
My wife and I wanted to review our financial position in order to plan for our retirement. Richard took plenty of time to understand all our financial goals, not just our retirement and our attitude to risk because there was always going to be a certain amount of investment and as we all know, investments can go down as well as up. For instance we also wanted to minimise any burden on our children regarding inheritance tax. He applied all our aims into a financial model along with our current and expected expenditure, and our sources of income (pensions and savings etc). We were then able to see if we had any shortfalls for what we wanted to achieve. We are very pleased with the process and what Richard has put in place. We have regular meetings to update the plan if necessary and check we have sufficient funds. I can't think of anything that could have been done better.

Originally my husband looked after our joint finances and estate - on his death I needed financial advice. Ian has consistently been courteous, and has consulted with me in how I want to invest - ethically and low risk. He regularly meets with me to discuss the portfolio. He has also set up a trust in the interests of my grandchildren. The outcome of his advice has so far been sound and successful Ian is the first adviser I have had contact with and I am perfectly satisfied with his way of being and the results of his advice.
Anne, UK
As a retired teacher with a pension and some savings of my own, I recently inherited a substantial amount from my parents. Having had Power of Attorney for their financial affairs at the end of their lives I appreciate the costs involved and the importance of good financial advice and wise planning for old age. Ian helped me understand how best to invest my savings, reduce inheritance tax and plan for my future. He had an excellent overview of my circumstances and was able to present this lucidly, and patiently. A lifetime cashflow presentation was extremely helpful - followed through with a professionally printed publication of his findings and recommendations. I found his graphic presentation, clarity of his explanations - layout design- graphs - spreadsheets - with such a complex subject matter to be extremely helpful.
