What our clients say
I recently approached Christian Verdier to help assist me carry out two re-mortgage applications. have known Christian Verdier for over 10 years now. He has been my default financial advisor because he is that good. He gets me (which is extremely hard to do) and he always listens and makes sure he understands your objectives before simply throwing products at you that does not assist you do what you are trying to do. He is honest and direct, which I also like. If what you are trying to achieve is not possible, he will tell you from the offset and not waste your time. Chris has helped me find an affordable re-mortgage product which achieves my objectives. Yes. I am nearly there. Both re-mortgages are currently with the solicitors and will be resolved within the next week or so. The process was quick and easy and Chris did all the paperwork. What could they have done better? Two words; 'Absolutely nothing.' Chris Verdier is simply the best at what he does. Once you have the best, why settle for anything else?

We already had a financial adviser at the time and were not happy with the advice given and also for the intervals between visits. Now we have regular reviews of our investments, at least every 6 months, with data showing how each has performed and Christian gives us advice about possible changes in funds. Growth is also noted. He has advised and given us a number of options for us to set up a retirement pension. Options showed comparisons of drawdown, annuities and partial drawdown. We chose drawdown and he reviews this at our meetings. He is very knowledgeable about current economic factors, but always the decision is left to us. He has given us very relevant advice regarding inheritance tax and always replies to our questions by phone or email. We do not pay Christian per visit, but understand and agree that he takes commissions eg. on pension and funds. We have to say that Christian is the most thorough, reliable and trustworthy financial adviser we have had and he continues to serve us well after a number of years. Certainly, even in these economical circumstances currently, our investments are growing and performing reasonably well. What could they have done better? I have to say that there is nothing that we can think of at the moment. We have some thoughts about our investments, but do not worry about them everyday. Christian makes sure that we are proactive and produces a vast quantity of information for each meeting, that focus our attention.

Christian, came to our place of work after a number of other pension advisers had been and gone. Knowing not much about pensions I was somewhat disinterested due to the coming and goings of other advisors. Christian was able to explain why I needed to think out things and was also able to explain what I might be investing in. The key part being that he would provide a report every year and in fact for me he does it every six months!! So for me knowing Christian has got my back and looks at my funds he clearly looks after his customers. I cannot stress enough that he will guide you through the process and with the details you get every year you can see where your cash has gone and see where you pension pot is making gains and where things and not working. What could they have done better? Christian has just been solid as a rock, I am not sure about his tea making skills but there is nothing I can say that is negative. Quick to return calls, super quick on email (might not even sleep I think) very good on explaining something to a disinterested person (me).

As I came up to retirement a few years ago I recognised that I was fortunate to have several final salary pension schemes but was unsure how to deal with my finances to ensure that my wife and I would be financially secure with enough capital to allow for holidays etc. I engaged Christian to advise me on this and his services have been excellent during the planning stages and then carrying through with investment and monitoring of my situation. Christian spent time reviewing my various pension plans and provided projections on my future annual income alongside advice on what capital I should release from the pension schemes and how best to invest it based on our future requirements and my attitude to investment risk. He has also reviewed a Will that my wife and I drafted some years ago and confirmed that it is still valid and does not require updating. I have been very pleased with how things have panned out. After the initial planning and then the commencement of retirement, Christian put in place the investments that we agreed and has since monitored progress. We have regular meetings and I feel that I can contact him at any time if I have concerns about market fluctuations that are affecting my situation.Aside from the investments it was extremely useful to have someone who could review. understand and then explain what was due from each of my pension plans. What could they have done better? To date I cannot think of any areas that I feel could have been improved upon. The main thing I wanted from this is a feeling that we have secured our future financially and to feel comfortable that my adviser understands our needs and is keeping a professional eye on our situation. I am entirely happy that this is the case.

About us

We are a firm of Chartered, Independent, financial advisers, working with clients in Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Ives, Downham Market, Ely & Cambridge, as well as the surrounding villages and towns.

We typically work with people age 40 and over, who are:

1. Saving for retirement and have multiple pension pots (including final salary pensions)

2. Close to retirement and want to know if they can afford to finish working

3. People who are worried about their investments

Carl and Christian are Chartered Financial Planners, setting them apart from other, less qualified, advisers. Attaining Chartered status demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and a desire to constantly improve our standards. This helps us better advise our clients.

We form long-term relationships with our clients. Helping people with multiple pension pots simplify their affairs, others closer to retirement understand their options, whilst advising members of Final Salary pensions on the benefits and drawbacks of transferring out.

We also work with investors, to help them understand whether their capital is invested in the right way.

Unlike most financial advisers, who charge a percentage of the money you invest, we work on a flat-fee basis, which is cheaper for the average investor, and therefore fairer.

Our services

Very simply, we solve your financial problems and challenges; that’s what our clients want us to do and what we focus on delivering.

Our Chartered and Independent status helps us to do that, as does our years of experience.

We also go to great lengths to make the complex world of personal finance as simple as possible and charge fairly for our services.

Our clients tell us that we make it easy to build a long-term relationship with us. That starts right from our first meeting, which will take place in your home, where you will feel more comfortable.
