I have been involved in complex pension advice for over 30 years and investment advice for over 20 years.
In February 1999, I set up Professionally Connected Financial Planning (PCFP), a partnership of regional fee-based independent financial advisers.
In October 2001, I passed the CII Retirement Options (K10) exam. I achieved the highest mark of any candidate during the 2001/2 academic year. The examination covered the full spectrum of advice on pension options at retirement for employees, business owners and the self-employed. I was awarded the prestigious Chartered Insurance Institute/Scottish Equitable K10 Retirement Options Merit Award for 2002.
In November 2005, I became an accredited adviser for the Universities Superannuation Scheme. In September 2007, I was awarded Chartered Financial Planner status by the CII. PCFP were one of the first 100 firms awarded Corporate Chartered Financial Planner status by the CII. In July 2008, I became sole owner of PCFP. My Statement of Professional Standing was awarded by the CII in 2012 and renewed each year since.
In 2016, I completed the CII Later-Life Orientation Programme and passed the CII R08 Pensions Update exam.
On 2 October 2017 PCFP changed legal status and became PCFP Ltd.
