Our latest research has shown more than 1 in 10 of the nation's retirees spent less than an hour researching, choosing and arranging one of life's most important decisions -- their retirement income. And our consumer poll reflects these finding, with 85 per cent of respondents saying they don't know how to go about choosing the right annuity for them.
We've launched a joint annuities campaign with Legal & General highlighting the importance of spending time researching your at-retirement income, which has already received coverage in The Times, MailOnline, YourMoney.com and IFA Online. This coverage, coupled with a House of Lords debate on 'annuities being fit for purpose', means now is a crucial time for advisers to get involved -- by encouraging clients to spend adequate time reviewing their at-retirement income and ensuring they know exactly what they need to do when the time comes.
As part of this campaign, we've worked with Legal & General to create an at-retirement guide for consumers.
