Rightmove has discovered the priciest places to buy in the East of England, based on data from May 2023.

Where are the most expensive areas to buy in the East of England?

Hertfordshire is the priciest area in the East of England as it dominates four out of five top spots.

Radlett is one of the most affluent parts of Hertfordshire, featuring many mansions, with an average asking price of £1.33 million.

The village is near many good private schools and green spaces, including Aldenham Country Park, which spans 100 acres. It’s also a 20-minute train journey to London.

Radlett is popular with some celebrities as former residents include Simon Cole and ex-Girls Aloud member Cheryl.

Brookmans Park

Brookmans Park, a village in Hertfordshire, has an average asking price of £1.20 million.

It is filled with luxurious properties and is near the countryside but is only a 45-minute journey into London. Similar to Radlett, the village has attracted celebrities such as Alexandra Burke.

Cuffley

Next on the list of priciest places to buy is Cuffley, Hertfordshire, with an average asking price of £1.13 million.

The village is a 50-minute journey into London by public transport, and it offers easy access to many private schools.

It’s also good for family-friendly days out, as Broxbourne Woods and Paradise Wildlife Park are nearby.

Stock

Stock is the only area outside of Hertfordshire on this list, with an average asking price of £1.06 million.

The village in Essex features many independent pubs, restaurants, golf clubs, and Greenwoods Hotel and Spa, set in a 17th century manor house.

It takes around an hour to travel to London by public transport.

Chorleywood

Finally, Chorleywood, a village in Hertfordshire, has an average asking price of £1.05 million. It is just under an hour away from London by public transport.

It is surrounded by green spaces, including Chorleywood Common and Stocker’s Lake Nature Reserve, and offers local eateries and bars.
