My clients are usually extremely busy people who have paid more attention to their company, staff and clients than they have to their own finances! All them would have made some provision for their retirement, whether that has been building a successful business, share options, pensions, property or a mixture of all of them.
The problem they usually have, is that they aren't really sure if they are doing the right thing now or how they will generate the income they need once they sell their business or retire from their job.
I work my way through the folders/drawers of paperwork and work out what it all means. I then give you a very clear idea of what you can do so you can make the important choices such as when to retire/sell up, whether to phase in your retirement or stop completely, and also work out how you can help your family and still enjoy the lifestyle that you want.
I'm also quite obsessive about not paying too much tax, so the work I do with clients also minimises their tax liabilities both now and in the future.
Although I deal with a whole variety of technical issues with pensions and tax, what my clients value the most is that I can do all of the detailed planning and then explain it clearly and concisely in a way that makes sense to them.
I cover the whole spectrum a whole range of issues including: Final Salary Schemes, SIPPs, SSAS, Annual Allowance, Lifetime Allowance, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, and also how to exit their business in the most profitable and tax efficient way.
