Socially responsible & ethical investment

Making the maximum return on your money may not be your only priority. An increasing number of people are keen to make sure that they do not profit from unethical practices.

When you invest in an ordinary fund, you cannot guarantee that some of your investments may not be funding industries that go against your personal morals and belief. Examples may include industries known to abuse human rights, or those that profit from tobacco, and so forth. In order to make certain that your money is aligned with your own ethical position, you may prefer to choose socially responsible and ethical investments. Some of these investments are simply designed to do no harm, while others actively promote good causes.

There are many ethical investments to choose from, so you can probably find one closely matched with the kind of causes that you support. Your adviser will be able to help. Find a financial adviser here.
