DAVID ELMS, Chief Executive

DAVID ELMS, Chief Executive

David's financial services background, nearly twenty years in sales and marketing management, made him an obvious choice for IFA Promotion's marketing manager in October 1998.

Previously, David worked with Sun Alliance, Black Horse Agencies and Merchant Investors. Before moving to IFA Promotion David was retained by Eagle Star as client magazine editor with responsibility for sports sponsorship - where he discovered a latent passion for Formula 1.

In May 2000, David became Chief Executive of IFA Promotion; since then he has expanded IFA Promotion's strategic direction and continues to manage IFA Promotion's PR, advertising, media buying, call centre, fulfilment and website accounts.

David shows an inexplicable fondness for 70's rock group Hawkwind. David's ambition is to see the Moai of Easter Island.


KAREN BARRETT, Marketing Director

KAREN BARRETT, Marketing Director

Karen has previously worked in marketing at Abbey National looking after the Safeway Savings portfolio and in sales development at Bradford and Bingley's subsidiary Mortgage Express, giving her a broad insight into the financial services industry.

Karen joined IFA Promotion in October 2001 and is responsible for the daily management of IFA Promotion's advertising, media buying, call centre, fulfilment and website accounts, working with David to promote the benefits of independent financial advice.

Karen lives in St.Albans and enjoys travelling having been to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. She would love to return to Australia in the future to relive her mis-spent youth and visit friends.

She also enjoys participating in sports such as sky-diving, white water rafting and deep sea diving. However it should be noted that she has only carried out each activity once and is too petrified to ever go back for more!


JESSICA MCCALLIN, Marketing Manager

JESSICA MCCALLIN, Marketing Administrator

Jessica joined IFA Promotion in July 2004, to work with and support Karen in all aspects of the marketing function. Her responsibilities include; marcoms production, campaign delivery, website management, research and competitor analysis.

Her previous experience, particularly in financial marketing, includes positions at both Zurich Financial Services and Britannic Assurance, and also for a specialist marketing agency working in the insurance industry.

Jessica spends most evenings working out at the gym and practices different forms of yoga and pilates. She also enjoys live music events, festivals and gigs. Her main passion is to travel and experience different cultures, last year having visited India, Egypt, Malta, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.


CLARE KISSANE, Company Secretary

CLARE KISSANE, Company Secretary

Having spent several years working in the charity sector, and before that with some well-known commercial companies, Clare joined IFA Promotion in June 2002. Clare has a degree in Classics and is a Chartered Secretary with a wealth of experience in finance and administration.

As Company Secretary, Clare is responsible for all aspects of company procedures and Board matters, and ensures the smooth running of IFA Promotion's IT, office facilities and accountancy functions.

Clare lives in a Victorian house in the heart of London's East End, and much of her spare time is taken up in trying to keep on top of maintaining the house and garden. Apart from that, she has an extensive collection of cookery books (over 200) and is a keen cook.


NICOLA ALLODI, Assistant to the Company Secretary

Nicola is involved in a wide variety of secretarial and administrative duties including accounts, arranging functions, IT support, dealing with enquiries from consumers and members received at head office and general administration of company secretariat for both IFA Promotion and Advice First Ltd.

Her previous experience has included Sales Support Administration for a Global Provider of Secure Payment Solutions and Reservations Consultant for a leading Greek Tour Operator.

Nicola enjoys keeping fit by attending a variety of keep-fit classes throughout the week and also enjoys relaxing on holiday breaks to the beautiful Caribbean, Cyprus and Greek islands.


FRAN KNIGHT, Marketing Administrator
 

FRAN KNIGHT

Fran graduated from the University of Portsmouth in July this year, with a 2:1 in International Business Studies. As part of her degree she lived in Rennes, France for the study abroad element of the degree. For her dissertation Fran investigated whether charities face an ethical dilemma by using viral marketing methods, considering their relatively risqué image in the national press. During the investigation she found that public concern over the size of marketing budgets was of little concern to the charities and that viral marketing provided a good value and precise marketing tool for them to market their cause.

For the work placement year of her degree, Fran worked in Pensions Administration for Punter Southall, which involved being a point of contact for members and calculation of Pension Scheme benefits.

Fran hopes her next adventure will be to travel on the Trans-Siberian railway across Russia and into China. Fran also loves to swim and tries to go as often as she can - which would be much easier if she had her own private pool at home!


ROSIE FERREIRA, Assistant to Company Secretary
 

ROSIE FERREIRA

Rosie is originally from Melbourne, Australia and currently lives in North West London with her husband. She has been in London for one year and is unsure as to when she will return to Australia. So far she has rated her overall experience since coming to London as invaluable.

Her previous work experience has involved working for various Australian government organisations, including the Department of Human Services as an Executive Assistant to a Director and Project Administrator and more recently case managing clients at the Child Support Agency.

Since coming to London, her positions have involved being part of various projects for companies such as Deloitte and John Lewis.

Currently, Rosie supports the Company Secretary providing a variety of secretarial and administrative duties.

Rosie loves travelling and going on weekend day trips. In the last year and a half she has visited places such as Thailand, Barcelona, Brugge and Cyprus, and is now anticipating her next adventure to Brazil, however does not plan to end her travels there!

Most of her spare time is occupied socializing with her friends, shopping (lots of it) and keeping fit.
