Media Awards 2014: winners revealed
Unbiased.co.uk's annual Media Awards were held last night in central London. 
We saw Addidi Wealth's Anna Sofat named FinancialAdviser of the Year and Dave Penny from Invest Southwest winning the Judges' Award for outstanding contribution. Six new awards were introduced for 2014, recognising exceptional articles by journalists who highlight the value of professional advice in the consumer and trade press. See the full list of winners.
The event was a great success according to the feedback so far. The awards proved to be a fantastic networking opportunity with 140 people attending, including media advisers and product providers. Journalists from the trade and consumer press were also in attendance, representing publications including The Mail on Sunday, The Times, The Telegraph, Money Marketing and Financial Adviser. We were tweeting throughout the evening, as were many of the guests using the hashtag #unbiasedawards2014. Catch up on the event gossip.
In the run up to the awards, we issued a number of press releases and web updates on the business.unbiased.co.uk site, as well as on Twitter. Newsletters, invitations to the event and reminders were all sent out to personal finance and trade journalists, media advisers and product providers which featured all category sponsor logos.
The awards evening, along with the judging event, were both great networking opportunities for our sponsors, which also gave them the chance to show their support for the professional advice industry.
